A Tip to Fellow Internet People

This applies to you regardless of what you do online.  You’re always going to have to deal with people who hate you from time to time, even if you can’t really figure out why.  They’ll take everything you say and find a way to hate you over it.  They’ll twist things around, take things out of context, or just take a small fraction of what you said and assume you meant something completely different despite having the opportunity to just question you on it.  You won’t be given the benefit of the doubt, and that’s okay.

As frustrating as it is, you’ll never win those people over.  You’ll probably be accused of all kinds of crazy stuff, but it’s just not worth the fight.  The time you’ll spend trying to explain to them the full story is just a waste, because most times, they’ll just disregard you.

No matter what you’re doing or what your plans may be, if someone is throwing insults at you and accusing you of something over the most throw-away of statements without simply asking for clarification or discussing it with you reasonably, you have something much better to do than try to talk to them about it.  If you want to talk about it, talk about it to someone who treats you as an equal, not as an idiot.

I do not belong to any social movements and my opinions are my own.

You know I think this was always implied, but I’ve realised that I’ve never outright declared it and as a Z-grade public figure due to the internet, I probably should for the sake of clarity.

I am not part of any social movements, any political movements, any anti movements, nor do my opinions reflect that of any company or group. My opinions I express are my own, not even necessarily that of close friends or coworkers.

As far as I’m concerned, whatever social movements or labels you are a part of or are connected to are irrelevant to who you are as a person. It’s a way to see who you are at a glance, and often it backfires. What matters at the end of the day is your actions and intentions. I care far more about what you’ve done than your labels or affiliations. Strive to be a good person who helps people with no expected gain to yourself and I probably already like you.

Baby’s First Website.

Hey everyone, Mah-Dry-Bread here.  I’ve spent quite a bit of time the last two days working on this site and I think I have it at a point where I can use it.  What for?  I have no idea, but it looks decent, right?

So I’m going to have to figure out exactly what I want to do with this.  Part of me wants to just link all of my videos here so it’s like a Youtube video feed of just my videos so people can easily watch my stuff without relying on Youtube’s own feed.  It tends to filter stuff out all the time that you want to see.  I have to manually go on Day[9] and Extra Credit’s channels every week because their stuff just doesn’t show up on my feed most of the time despite me being subscribed to them.  I want to avoid that happening with my channel.

My only worry about doing that with my website is that I do upload a lot of videos a day.  Maybe it would be useful?  I don’t know, but I’d appreciate your feedback on it.  I could also do blog posts here, but that’s kinda also what I do on Facebook and more people use Facebook, although this is a good alternative for people who don’t use Facebook.  I could cross-post blog stuff to both my website and Facebook, although it may end up being pointless.

You’ll notice there is a “Categories” section on the right side of the screen there.  I’d love to have my backlog put there, but that would mean I have to go through and post every single video I’ve ever done here.  That would be difficult.  On the plus side, really I’d just have to post the playlist of finished things for playthroughs.  For stuff like Payday 2 101 though, I don’t know how I’d do that since I really should post individual videos.

You’ll notice that at the top of the page, there is a “Forum” menu that takes you to the forum.   I’ve been thinking of upgrading the forum so that we have our own web domain for it, however the full upgrade would be $50 a year and that’s a bit much for me at the moment.

In non-site related news, January just passed and on Youtube you always get paid the previous month’s pay Cheque on a one month delay.  That means I get paid December pay on the 10th of this month, and January pay next month.  Although that’s great right now because December pay is always pretty good, January pay is BY FAR the worst on Youtube.  I can already see how much I generated that month and I’m not looking forward to it.  I can’t give the exact number, but I made less than $300 for an entire month’s work.  That’s half the price of rent in a cheap apartment for where I live.  December pay is nearly double that of January pay.  It’s mostly because advertisers will pay Youtube a lot of money in December to get people to buy their stuff in time for Christmas, but they will hardly pay Youtube anything in January since a lot of people don’t have much money around then.  Because they won’t pay much, cheap ads get run and Youtubers don’t make much money.  It sucks.  That being said, Patreon is still going well so that helps.

Anyway, you should be able to comment on this post.  I think you may need to sign up for the site, not sure.  You should see some useful buttons on the right side of my site if you scroll a bit.  You’ll find my twitter feed if you want to follow that, an option to follow my website by email so you get email updates on posts, you can follow my site on wordpress if you want, as well as a like button for my Facebook Fanpage.  At the very top right of the site you’ll find links to my Facebook Fanpage, Twitter, Youtube Channel, and RSS Feed.

Have any thoughts on what I should use this site for or any feedback on what you think of it so far?  Let me know in the comments on this post.  Thank you everybody for reading and until next time, have a nice day!
